Biddeford Democratic legislators to host Town Hall about the Opportunity Agenda
Democratic Members of Biddeford’s delegation to the Legislature will hold a Town Hall Forum to discuss their proposed biennial budget, called the Opportunity Agenda, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, April 24, in the Little Theater at Biddeford High School.
Sen. Susan Deschambault will convene the town hall-style public forum. She will be joined by Rep. Marty Grohman and Rep. Ryan Fecteau, both of Biddeford, who will discuss the Opportunity Agenda and contrast this budget proposal with that of Governor LePage. Members of Democratic Legislative Leadership, including Sen. Troy Jackson of Allagash, the Senate Democratic Leader, Sen. Nate Libby of Lewiston, the Senate Democratic Assistant Leader, and Sen. Cathy Breen of Falmouth, the Democratic Lead on the Legislature’s budget-writing Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee, will also be in attendance to answer questions about the Opportunity Agenda.
The Opportunity Agenda calls for the largest property tax cut in Maine history; invests in jobs and the economy; fully funds public schools; makes college degrees more affordable and attainable; supports families, seniors, children and veterans; and provides meaningful student debt relief. And it does it all without unnecessary cuts and without raising new taxes.
All are welcome to attend, ask questions and get answers. More information on the Opportunity Agenda may be found here.
