The Maine Legislature honored the Cheverus High School Boys’ Swim Team on May 23 with a Legislative Sentiment in honor of their fifth consecutive Class A State Championship win.

“These swimmers showed tremendous commitment to their sport and to each other this season,” said Sen. Ben Chipman, D-Portland. “I’m glad we were able to recognize their accomplishments in the Senate and I look forward to seeing what they accomplish out of the pool.”

Attending the Sentiment presentation were team members Ben Thompkins, Shane Moore, Gus Anderson, Quintin Hastings, Clay Hatch, Phineus Underwood, and Chase Cameron, Coach Kevin Haley, and Assistant Coach Matt Arey.

A Legislative Sentiment is a significant expression by the Legislature in recognition of civic and public achievements.
