Statement from John Brautigam on Medicare Part D

(D-Falmouth), sponsor of LD 1325 "An Act To Ensure Continuity of Care Related to Implementation of the Federal Medicare Drug Benefit" last session, giving authority to the state to provide assistance to Maine people during the implementation of Medicare Part D commented on the status of the program in Maine (287-1430):

“Maine has a long tradition of helping our most vulnerable residents obtain affordable prescription drugs. Now the federal government has required many of these people to sign up for Medicare D – a patchwork of expensive and inadequate benefits. Once again, we will step in to protect our own people.”
