Senator Barry Hobbins
Barry Hobbins represents State Senate District 5,
which includes the communities of Buxton, Dayton,
Old Orchard Beach, Saco, and part of Biddeford.
Senator Hobbins continues his Legislative service,
which began for him at the age of 21 when he was
elected to the 106th Maine Legislature as a State
Representative. Sen. Hobbins went on to serve five
more consecutive House terms followed by an additional
term in the 114th Legislature as a State Senator.
He returned to the State Senate in 2004.
His return to the Maine Senate brought with him
a unique blend of legal, business, public policy,
and community service, which he had gained and developed
since his previous legislative service. Senator Hobbins
is currently servicing his third consecutive term.
Outside of the legislature, Senator Hobbins is an
attorney with a law office in Saco. In the 124th
Legislature, he chairs the Utilities and Energy Committee
and puts his legal skills to good use as a member
of the Judiciary Committee. Additionally, he co-chairs
the Right to Know Advisory Committee and the Commission
to Study Energy Infrastructure, and is a member of
the Governor’s Ocean Energy Task Force.
Barry Hobbins lives in Saco, Maine with his wife
Donna and they are the proud parents of three children.
