Senator Troy D. Jackson
was born and raised in the St. John Valley. He graduated
from Allagash Consolidated Community High School in
Allagash and from the University of Maine at Fort Kent
with a business degree. He is currently serving his
first term in the Maine Senate, having served three
terms, or six years, in the House of Representatives.
He works as a logger in northern Maine.
Senator Jackson is a strong labor advocate, who
in recent years has led the cause for fair wages
for loggers and independent truckers. While a member
of the House, Troy sponsored several pieces of legislation
to address logging issues. He served as the House
Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Inland Fisheries
and Wildlife and has served on the Joint Standing
Committee on Labor.
He is a member of the Governor’s Advisory
Council on the Sustainability of the Forest Products
Industry in Maine, which is charged with developing
recommendations to improve the competitiveness of
Maine’s forest products industry nationally
and internationally.
Troy resides in Allagash with his wife, Lana Pelletier,
and their two children, Chace and Camden. |
