Lawmakers take up bill banning texting while driving

One Maine lawmaker is cracking down on texting and driving.  Windham Senator Bill Diamond, who sits on the transportation committee, helped get Maine’s distracted driver law on the books, and now he wants to ban texting and driving.  He spoke out in Augusta Tuesday on the dangers he sees every day, just just in his commute to the state house.  The bill is still being worked on, but Senator Diamond hopes it will pass.  As part of the current law, officers can pull someone over if they see them texting.
