The Maine Legislature honored Lewiston’s Jeromey Rancourt on May 24 with a Legislative Sentiment in honor of him being awarded the Travis Roy Award. The Travis Roy Award goes to the top Senior Class A boys hockey player in Maine each year.

“Jeromey showed real leadership and ability this season,” said Sen. Nate Libby, D-Lewiston. “He represented his team, his school, and his city well on and off the ice and I’m glad we were able to honor his achievements in the State House.”

Rancourt helped lead the Lewiston High School Boys Hockey Team to back-to-back Class A State Championship wins in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. In the 2016-17 season he lead the team in scoring during the regular season with 18 goals and 26 assists and had one goal and five assists in the playoffs.

A Legislative Sentiment is a significant expression by the Legislature in recognition of civic and public achievements.
