The Maine Legislature honored the Monmouth Academy Girls Basketball Team with a Legislative Sentiment for winning the Class C State Championship. The basketball State Championship win is the first in the school’s history.

“The players and coaches worked hard for this achievement and our whole community is so proud of them,” said Rep. Kent Ackley, C-Monmouth.

“The Monmouth Academy Girls Basketball champions showed remarkable teamwork and determination, and we were thrilled to welcome them at the state house to be recognized,” said Sen. Shenna Bellows, D-Manchester.

A Legislative Sentiment is a significant expression by the Legislature in recognition of civic and public achievements.
