Dear Friends,

Welcome! I am truly thrilled that you took the time to visit our Senate Web site, and learn more about the Maine Senate Democrats. As public servants, it is our duty to help connect members of the public with their government, and it’s a task I take very seriously.

As a State Senator, I spend roughly six months out of the year in Augusta, serving as the Senate Chair of the Taxation Committee, and as a member of the Transportation Committee. Throughout the year, whether in Augusta or back home with my family in Bangor, I feel that my greatest priority as your State Senator needs to be to the people I represent.

I would also like to invite you all to take a day-trip to visit our State Capitol to see our state government first hand.

The Maine State Museum and the Governor’s residence, the Blaine House, are also open to the public. Guided tours of the State House are available free from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday through Friday and can be arranged by calling 287-2301. The State House is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, and if you choose a self-guided tour, pamphlets to guide your way are available in the Welcome Center. To schedule a tour of either the Blaine House or the Maine State Museum, please call 287-2301.
