Collection and disclosure of information:
The Senate Majority Office and members of the Senate Democratic
Caucus will not sell, trade or divulge your e-mail address, postal
address or any other personal information you furnish through
this site.
We may use information you provide from surveys, petitions,
or electronic correspondences to respond more effectively to
your questions and comments. Some of this information we collect
may be used to connect you with the senator representing your
community or to inform you about statewide policy issues from
other members of the Senate Democratic Caucus.
Online petitions and Personal Information: The Senate Democratic Caucus will not disclose personal information
collected from you through our state government Web portal.
Information collected, however, may be public information
under Maine law.
SPAM Policy
The Senate Democratic Caucus is committed to working in an
online environment free of spam. Our office will only engage
in electronic,
phone, or traditional mail communication with constituents
who fall into one of the following categories:
- A preexisting relationship
- A user has previously requested information with the expectation
of a response
- A user has responded to a questionnaire or a survey with
the expectation of a response
- A user has had previous offline contact with one or
more senators and expressed interest in continuing
communication
either verbally,
in print, or electronically.
What constitutes consent to electronic communication?
An email recipient has consented to receiving electronic
communication if they have a preexisting relationship,
previously requested
information with the expectation of a response, responded
to a questionnaire or a survey with the expectation of
a response,
or had previous offline contact with one or more senators
and expressed interest in continuing communication either
verbally,
in print, or electronically.
A copy of the Senate Democratic Caucus Privacy Policy is
posted at the bottom of our online government Web portal,
and when
applicable other Web pages where information may collected.
Opting out and modifying information
Subscribers to our e-mail list may terminate his or her
subscription via a link at the bottom of each email
sent from mainesenate.org
or senate.democrats@legislature.maine.gov.
Browser information collected on the web site
The Senate Democratic Caucus does not track visitors through
the use of “cookies” or other tracking devices.
Our hosting provider, informe.org, may independently monitor
Web traffic. Privacy of our email lists
Please be advised that under state law, e-mail correspondence
with this office and with senators may be considered a public
record, and our office could be required to provide copies
of our e-mail if requested by a member of the public.
