Senator Hobbins Announces Saco Listening Session
Public forum will serve as an opportunity for residents to share concerns and talk about the issues
AUGUSTA – As part of an on-going effort to bring matters from the State House in Augusta down home to the residents of Senate District 5, Senate Democratic Leader Barry Hobbins has announced a public listening session in Saco.
“It is an honor to serve as the State Senator for the people and businesses of this area,” said Hobbins. “And this session has been even more important since being picked to serve as the Democratic Leader for the Senate.”
“I want to hear more about what people and businesses have to say about the issues facing our state. As leader, I realize the importance of trying to work together to address the many challenges and opportunities – and do what is best for our state,” Hobbins added.
The Listening Session is scheduled for Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thornton Academy, 438 Main Street in Saco.
Senator Hobbins noted that all listening sessions are open to anyone who would like to talk about legislative or state matters of interest. The Legislature will start its work again in January.

Barry Hobbins is Senator for District 5 and a practicing attorney in Saco. He represents the communities of Buxton, Dayton, Old Orchard Beach, Saco, and part of Biddeford. Senator Hobbins is the Senate Democratic Leader.
