Senator Ethan Strimling

 

Ethan Strimling, D-Cumberland County, lives in Portland with his wife Mary. He graduated from the University of Maine in 1992 with a B.A. in History, and later earned his masters in education from Harvard University. He also attended the Juilliard School as a theater student.

Ethan was first elected to public office in 2002, when he was elected to the Maine State Legislature to serve as Senator. As Senator, he Chairs the Committee on Labor and serves on the Committee on Taxation.

His primary concerns are Health Care, Tax Reform, and Education.

Prior to be being elected Senator, Senator Strimling served on the Neighborhood Advisory Council, and participated in Maine Won’t Discriminate.

Ethan is also the Executive Director of Portland West, a nonprofit social service organization that works with at risk children and low-income families.
