Honorary Page Program

When the Legislature is in session, all members of the public are welcome to visit the State House to see their lawmakers at work. When the Senate is convened, visitors may observe directly from the Senate floor or from the Senate Gallery.

Maine children have a special opportunity to see the Senate up close and personal through the Honorary Page Program, which is open to students in third grade through high school.

Under the supervision of the Sergeant-at-Arms and chamber staff, honorary pages have the opportunity to experience the work of the Senate first-hand. Pages get a chance to meet their senator and perform important duties such as delivering messages to the senators and distributing bills, amendments and supplements.

Students and teachers interested in the Honorary Page Program should contact their senator for details. Please call (207) 287-1515 for more details.
