Sen. Baldacci welcomes Pastor Chad Poland to Augusta
AUGUSTA — On Thursday, March 14, Sen. Joe Baldacci, D-Bangor, welcomed Pastor Chad Poland of the All Souls Congressional Church in Bangor to the Senate Chamber. Pastor Poland gave the opening prayer.
“It was an honor to have Pastor Poland here in Augusta to give the opening prayer,” said Sen. Baldacci. “Chad is an incredible member of our community, and I’m so happy he was able to start our session day on the right note.”
On session days, faith leaders deliver a brief inspirational message to guide lawmakers through their deliberations for the day. Out of respect for the diversity in the Senate Chamber, the Senate Secretary’s Office asks that these invocations are non-secular and non-political.
