Sen. Hickman greets Chelsea Elementary School icons
AUGUSTA – On Wednesday, Sen. Craig Hickman of Winthrop, welcomed James Ramage and Lincoln Bolitho, students of Chelsea Elementary School, to the State House. The students were guests of the State House due to their influence in their community by creating Dapper Wednesday at their school. Dapper Wednesday is a day where students show up to school in their best-dressed clothes to help everyone feel just a little more dapper. This trend made local news state news, and even national news.
“I am beyond inspired by these young men,” said Sen. Hickman. “It is clear these boys are not only trend-setters within their community, but their vision has spread throughout the state. This is indicative of their budding leadership skills, and I can’t wait to see what initiatives they may lead next.”
Dapper Wednesday has expanded to include donations that can help other students at Chelsea Elementary School who may not be fortunate enough to have clothing that makes them feel dapper.
