AUGUSTA — Today, Sen. Dave LaFountain, D-Winslow, hosted the Winslow High School Choir in the Senate Chamber. The choir opened the session day with their rendition of the National Anthem.

“I was thrilled to host the Winslow High School Choir and their chaperones this morning,” said Sen. LaFountain. “Their performance of the National Anthem was moving, and a great start to the day. I’m proud of my record supporting funding for our public schools and the arts programs that make them so special. I appreciate my constituents for taking the time to showcase their talents before the Maine Senate.”

On session days, the Senate Secretary’s Office also manages the Honorary Page Program in the Maine State Senate. Open to students in third grade through twelfth grade, Honorary Pages perform various duties such as delivering messages, distributing documents within the Senate Chamber, interacting with State Senators, and – most importantly – taking part in a real world, legislative learning experience.
