Sen. Vitelli welcomes Bath Middle School student to the Maine Senate
AUGUSTA — On Thursday, March 21, Sen. Eloise Vitelli, D-Arrowsic, welcomed Bath Middle School student Summer Irish-Deane of Bath to the Senate Chamber. Summer served as an Honorary Student Page. She was accompanied by her mother, Jessica Irish.
“It was wonderful to welcome Summer and Jessica to the State House,” said Sen. Vitelli. “As the session days become longer, we really value the work of the pages. I hope that both Summer and Jessica learned something interesting about how the Maine State Legislature works.”
On session days, the Senate Secretary’s Office manages the Honorary Page Program in the Maine State Senate. Open to students in third grade through twelfth grade, Honorary Student Pages perform various duties such as delivering messages, distributing documents within the Senate Chamber, interacting with State Senators, and taking part in a real world legislative learning experience.
