Senator Diamond Recognizes Windham High School Girls Soccer Team
AUGUSTA – The Windham High School Girls Soccer Team visited the State House earlier this week to receive a special recognition from the Maine Legislature. State Senator Bill Diamond, Representative Mark Bryant, and Representative Patrick Corey invited the team to Augusta where they could be recognized for winning the 2014 Class A State Championship.
The team was presented with a Legislative Sentiment, which is a public declaration in honor of their achievement approved by both chambers and entered into the legislative record. Players were also congratulated in the Senate and House sessions.
Included in the photo, along with Senator Diamond, Representative Bryant and Representative Corey, are players Shannon Valente, Holly Spencer, Emily Gorrivan, Lauren Shoemaker, Elizabeth Mycock, Ariana Davidson, Madison Mauro, Cassie Symonds, Laura McKenna, Ciera Berthiaume, Hannah Haskell, Jordan Sargent, Alana Dube, Melissa Morton, Vanessa Ludka, Luisa Sbardella, Emily Gilman, Jenna Soucy, Katie Herzig and Kate Kneeland; head coach Deb Lebel; and volunteer assistant coaches Jenn Sullivan and Jim Stewart.
