Sen. Grohoski is a cartographer and geographic information system (GIS) specialist from Ellsworth. Raised by her mother, a school nurse, and father, a Vietnam veteran and electrician, Sen. Grohoski shares her parents’ commitment to public service and the health and well-being of her community. She is a driver for the local Meals on Wheels program, volunteers with Green Ellsworth and serves on the Board of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail.

Sen. Grohoski joined the Senate after serving two terms in the House of Representatives. She is the Senate chair of the Legislature’s Taxation Committee and is serving her third term on the Energy, Utilities and Technology Committee. She is also a member of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee of the Maine Climate Council. She is a graduate of Middlebury College, where she studied environmental chemistry and mathematics, and currently works for a small, Maine-based mapping company. 

Her district currently includes the towns of Bar Harbor, Blue Hill, Brooklin, Brooksville, Castine, Cranberry Isles, Deer Isle, Ellsworth, Frenchboro, Isle au Haut, Lamoine, Mount Desert, Orland, Penobscot, Sedgwick, Southwest Harbor, Stonington, Surry, Swan’s Island, Tremont, Trenton, and Verona Island.
