Sen. Miramant earns perfect attendance record in 2018 legislative session
AUGUSTA — Sen. Dave Miramant, D-Camden, earned a perfect attendance and voting record during the recently concluded legislative session.
“Being a public official means showing up to do the job every day,” said Sen. Miramant. “I am proud of my record representing Knox County in the Maine Senate and will always vote to boost working families, protect our environment and ensure everyone has health care.”
During the 2nd Regular Session of the 128th Maine Legislature, Miramant cast 100 percent of the votes recorded, excluding absences excused by the President of the Senate for illness or other extenuating circumstances. This year, lawmakers cast votes to protect the minimum wage, improve transparency in pricing of prescription medicine and increase access to the life-saving, anti-overdose drug naloxone.
Miramant also had a 100 percent attendance record last year. The 128th Legislature adjourned May 2, leaving several pieces of legislation unresolved. The Legislature will only reconvene should there be a special session.
