Public forums will serve as an opportunity for residents in Senate District 1 to share concerns and talk about the issues

AUGUSTA – As part of an on-going effort to bring matters from the State House in Augusta down home to the residents of southern York County, Senator Dawn Hill has released the dates and locations for listening sessions to be held in the five communities she represents.

“It is an honor to serve as State Senator and the greatest part of my job is working with the people and businesses in Senate District 1,” said Hill. “I always value and appreciate an open dialogue for feedback.”

Senator Hill noted that all listening sessions are open to anyone who would like to talk about legislative or state matters of interest. Even though the Legislature is not in session right now, there are still issues facing the state. Hill referred to her involvement on the Streamlining Task Force that has been working over the past two months to identify at least $25 million in taxpayer savings as just one example.

Hill said, “I want to hear more about what people have to say about our state. We are certainly experiencing difficult times and I believe it is important to work together,” adding, “Mainer’s are known for their resolve and for helping each other, so I know we can make it through any challenge by working together.”
