Sen. Nangle shares 2026 MDOT work plan for state bridge and road projects
AUGUSTA – Sen. Tim Nangle, D-Windham, is pleased to announce the details of Maine’s three-year transportation infrastructure work plan, and what it means for Senate District 26. The plan is released annually with an outline of the Maine Department of Transportation’s strategy for road, bridge and other transportation upgrades and maintenance projects.
According to the Maine DOT, the three-year work plan makes a $4.5 billion investment in the construction and maintenance of transportation infrastructure across the state. It includes 2,798 individual work items for the calendar years 2026, 2027 and 2028.
In 2026, the Maine Department of Transportation will undertake several transportation projects across Senate District 26. These include the replacement of the Loveitt Bridge on River Road in Windham, improvements to the Route 302 corridor and intersection work near the Route 202 roundabout.
“As Chair of the Transportation Committee, I spend a lot of time looking at how our roads and bridges are holding up across Maine,” said Sen. Nangle. “Projects like the replacement of the Loveitt Bridge and improvements along Route 302 are the kinds of investments that make a real difference for the people who rely on these roads every day — whether they’re commuting to work, getting their kids to school or running a small business. When we keep critical routes like these in good shape, we’re protecting the connections that keep our communities and local economy moving.”
