UMaine student interns in Maine Senate

1.12.16 Sen. Dill with Cody WatsonUniversity of Maine student Cody Watson recently started his semester with an internship in the Senate Democratic Office in Augusta.

Watson, who is from Greenville, is majoring in political science at the university, and has an interest in economics and education. He will spend two days every week this semester in Augusta to observe the inner workings of the Legislature and policy decision-making.

Sen. Jim Dill of Old Town, whose district includes UMaine’s Orono campus, praised Cody on his interest in Maine politics and state government.

“Cody is a fine young leader for our state and we are pleased to have his presence in the Maine Senate,” Sen. Dill said. “I know it will be a valuable life-learning experience for him.”

Sen. Dill and Watson are pictured below in front of the President’s rostrum in the Senate Chamber, where Watson will be spending a good amount of time during legislative sessions.
