Sen. Millett takes oath of office for 128th Maine Legislature
Millett begins third term representing Senate District 29 in the Maine Senate
AUGUSTA — Sen. Rebecca Millett, D-Cape Elizabeth, was inaugurated to the Maine Senate during a swearing-in ceremony held Wednesday at the State House in Augusta.
“I am so honored that the voters of Senate District 29 have chosen to send me back to the State House, and I’m excited to get to work on their behalf,” Sen. Millett said. “I’ll work these next two years to continue Maine’s forward progress on important issues like education at all levels – pre-k through college – and making life more manageable for Maine’s hardworking parents.”
Sen. Millett is beginning her third term in the Maine Senate. She previously served on the Cape Elizabeth School Board from 2004 to 2010, and has served on the Committee on Education and Cultural Affairs.
The 128th Legislature will convene for its first day of regular business on Wednesday, January 4. Members of the Legislature have until Friday, December 30, to submit bills for consideration in 2017.
