DAWN HILL SWORN IN FOR THIRD TERM IN MAINE SENATE
AUGUSTA – State Senator Dawn Hill (D-York County) was sworn in on December 3, 2014 as Senator of the 127th Legislature. This will be her third term in the Maine Senate representing Senate District 35, which includes the communities of Eliot, Kittery, Ogunquit, South Berwick, York, and part of Berwick.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to continuing serving the people, businesses, and interests of our seacoast community,” said Hill. “There are many challenges facing our state, and district, but I am ready to work together with all legislators in the State House to bring home positive results.”
The 127th Legislature will begin its session work on January 7, 2015.
Senator Hill was also chosen by her colleagues to serve as Assistant Democratic Leader in the Maine Senate this session.
“In leadership, I will listen and work beyond party lines to get the job done. The people of Maine expect this to happen and it is my priority as Assistant Democratic Leader,” said Hill.
As a member of the Senate, Hill previously served as Chair of the powerful Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee. She also served two terms in the Maine House of Representatives during which she served as Chair of the Government Oversight Committee and as a member of the Judiciary and Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committees.
