“Congresswoman Pingree is providing leadership and looking out for the best interest of Maine people,” said Rep. Emily Cain, D-Orono, the House Democratic leader.  “It’s time to move forward to make sure Maine people have access to affordable health care not play political games.”

“Clearly, the Governor seems happiest when he’s throwing political punches and his voice is the loudest. His statement targeting Congresswoman Pingree is disrespectful and out of line. And his hostile language shuts the door for meaningful policy discussions,” said Assistant Democratic Leader Justin Alfond, D-Portland.  “I continue to stand with Congresswoman Pingree in our fight to protect health care for the more than 20,000 Maine people whose health care and lives are at stake.”
