GERZOFSKY APPOINTED TO CRIMINAL CODE REVISION COMMITTEE
AUGUSTA – State Senator Stan Gerzofsky (D-Brunswick) has been appointed by Senate President Justin Alfond to be on the Criminal Code Revision Planning Committee. The committee is tasked with examining Maine’s criminal code.
“I am pleased to be appointed to the Criminal Code Revision Committee,” said Senator Gerzofsky, Chair of the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee. “Maine’s criminal code requires a full review, and I am looking forward to doing my part to ensure that our laws are as effective as possible.”
Gerzofsky is one of six lawmakers to be selected for the committee, which will evaluate consistency in sentencing and punishment for crimes and recommend amendments to the criminal code for the State of Maine.
Senator Gerzofsky is serving his third term in the Maine Senate representing Senate District 10, which includes Freeport, Brunswick, Harpswell, and Pownal.
