Today, Senate Assistant Majority Leader Jill C. Duson, D-Portland, and Sen. Tim Nangle, D-Windham, hosted Portland and Westbrook students at the State House. The students served as Honorary Pages for the Senate Session.

“What a joy to welcome future leaders from our district to the Senate this morning,” said Sen. Duson. “My colleagues and I were able to efficiently complete our work thanks to their efforts. Thank you to Elisabeth, Queen, Laneek, Salomon and their chaperones for coming to the State House.

“It’s always great to see young people from the district come to Augusta and see how our state government works,” said Sen. Nangle. “They were a great addition to a busy session day, as we fight to protect access to health care. I hope to see them back in the senate chamber.”

Honorary pages perform duties such as delivering messages to Senators and distributing amendments and supplements in the Chamber under the supervision of the Sergeant-at-Arms and other chamber staff. Those wishing to sign up as Honorary Pages should contact Alex Ferguson in the Senate Secretary’s Office by email at Alex.Ferguson@legislature.maine.gov or by phone at (207) 287-1540.
