LEPAGE CROSSED ‘SACRED LINE’ WITH ABUSE OF POWER THREATS
AUGUSTA – Senate Democratic Leader Justin Alfond of Portland, released the following statement in response to Governor LePage’s interference in Goodwill Hinkley’s hiring of House Speaker Mark Eves.
“It is unconscionable that Governor LePage would interfere with Speaker Eves–or any lawmaker’s personal, professional, or family life,” said Senate Democratic Leader Justin Alfond of Portland. “This time, he has crossed a sacred line. Paul LePage may be governor of our state but he does not have the right to abuse this authority to destroy another person’s professional life.”
