Old Town High School student honored at the State House

Sen. Dill with Rep. Dunphy, Mike and Conner Archer 3.17.16Connor Archer, a senior at Old Town High School, was recently recognized by the Legislature for being named a state honoree in the 2016 Prudential Spirit of Community Award.

The awards program, created by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals, honors young volunteers across America who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to serving their communities.

Connor received the award for his initiative to educate the public about autism through the creation of a program called The Courageous Steps Project. Through his efforts, he raised more than $12,000 for organizations that help people with special needs.

Sen. Jim Dill of Old Town and Rep. Michelle Dunphy of Old Town presented Connor, pictured below with his father Mike Archer, with a Legislative Sentiment in recognition of his award and exemplary volunteer service in the community.
