Orono High School state champion soccer team honored at the State House

Members of the Orono High School girls’ soccer team were recognized by the Legislature on March 17 for winning their first-ever state championship.

Sen. Jim Dill of Old Town and Rep. Ryan Tipping-Spitz of Orono presented the players with a Legislative Sentiment honoring the team.

Members of the team include: Katelyn Richards, Daphne Murphy, Rayhana Luther, Brooklynne White, Jenna Gaetjen, Becky Lopez-Anido, Elizabeth White, Gabrielle Marquis, Lauren Stoops, Brinsley Chasse, Becca Gallandt, Samantha Round, Lydia Chase, Giorgia Calcagno, Jordan Hernandez, Elise Kenney, Aashild Fridton, Carly Hartery, Amber Westley, Ali Pickering, Isabel Henderson, Lauren Melanson, and Maddie Dichard.

Head coach is Cid Dyjak, and the assistant coach is Alan Smith.
