Sen. Bellows earn high marks for pro-environment voting record
Sen. Shenna Bellows, D-Manchester, earned a perfect score from Maine Conservation Voters (MCV) for her votes to preserve Maine’s rich natural resources, invest in clean, renewable energy and protect the public from harmful chemicals.
“We made real progress this year in moving toward a greener, cleaner future for generations to come,” said Sen. Bellows. “These new laws will provide opportunities for new careers in growing industries, clean up our waterways, and transition our economy to more sustainable, renewable sources of energy.”
Sen. Bellows has a long history of supporting initiatives to promote, protect and preserve Maine’s environment. She also earned perfect scores from MCV for her votes in 2018 and 2017. She serves on the Manchester Conservation Commission in her hometown.
The Maine Conservation Voters scored six key initiatives debated by the legislature this year, including the Land for Maine’s Future Bond, which was the only proposal among these that didn’t pass. All 21 Senate Democrats received perfect scores for their environmental record.
