Sen. Breen invites local students to Augusta for Honorary Page program

AUGUSTA —With the Legislature back in session, Sen. Cathy Breen, D-Falmouth, is reminding local schools and students about the Senate Honorary Page program at the State House in Augusta.

“Serving as an honorary page is an excellent way to not only experience the legislative process, but contribute to it,” said Sen. Breen. “It is not merely a ceremonial position. Pages pass notes between senators and distribute important documents, such as amendments and announcements. I recommend the page program to any student with an interest in civics.”

The Legislature is currently in session through the spring or early summer. Honorary pages are needed throughout the session, so scheduling is flexible. Students from third grade through high school are encouraged to participate.
