AUGUSTA – On Thursday, March 20, Sen. Cameron Reny, D-Bristol, welcomed Marshall Addy of Waldoboro to the Senate to congratulate him on being the Lincoln County recipient of the 2025 Legislative Memorial Scholarship.

“Our state needs talented people like Marshall to lead it in every field, from education to business to government,” said Sen. Reny. “I am proud of what he has already accomplished and look forward to seeing him continue to excel in the future.”

The Legislative Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1995 as the successor of the Gould-Michaud Scholarship Funds. The original scholarship funds began in memory of Representative Stephen Gould of Orono and House Page David Michaud. They were available to students attending the Universities of Maine in Orono and Fort Kent. Now, the $1,000 scholarship is offered annually to 16 students, one from each county in Maine, who attend a two- or four-year Maine college or technical school.

Marshall is currently enrolled at the University of Maine at Orono and majors in electrical engineering.
