Sen. Daughtry, Rep. Cloutier celebrate PFML board confirmation hearings in Labor and Housing Committee

AUGUSTA — On Tuesday, the Legislature’s Labor and Housing Committee held confirmation hearings for the Paid Family and Medical Leave Benefits Authority. 

Sen. Mattie Daughtry, D–Brunswick, and Rep. Kristen Cloutier, D-Lewiston, at a Paid Family and Medical Leave press conference.

Sen. Mattie Daughtry, D-Brunswick, and Rep. Kristen Cloutier, D-Lewiston, who co-sponsored LD 1964, “An Act to Implement the Recommendations of the Commission to Develop a Paid Family and Medical Leave Benefits Program,” released the following statement in response:

“After years of hard work and collaboration, it’s gratifying to see Paid Family and Medical Leave for Maine move forward with this important step. We offer our heartfelt congratulations to all those who have been nominated to the PFML Authority, and we thank the Labor and Housing Committee for their continued diligence on this issue.”

Once approved by the committee, nominees go before the Senate for final confirmation.
