Sen. Daughtry welcomes Harriet Beecher Stowe Elementary School students to the Maine Senate

AUGUSTA ­­— On Wednesday, Feb. 21, Sen. Mattie Daughtry, D-Brunswick, welcomed Harriet Beecher Stowe Elementary School students Madeline Thibodeaux and Violet Rankin, both of Brunswick, to the Senate Chamber. Madeline and Violet served as Honorary Pages.

“Both Madeline and Violet were outstanding Honorary Pages today,” said Sen. Daughtry. “I was so proud to see these girls at the State House. Looking back on my own career, I am confident that either of them could become the Assistant Majority Leader – or more – one day. It all starts here!”

On session days, the Senate Secretary’s Office manages the Honorary Page Program in the Maine State Senate. Pages perform various duties such as delivering messages; distributing documents within the Senate Chamber; interacting with State Senators; and – most importantly – taking part in a real world, legislative learning experience.
