AUGUSTA — Sen. Jim Dill, D-Old Town, welcomed the University of Maine Black Bears Football Team to the Maine Senate on Tuesday. Sen. Dill lauded the Black Bears’ success in a speech on the floor of the Maine Senate, pointing out that the team was initially ranked eighth overall in the league, but went on to greatly exceed those expectations.

The Black Bears won the Colonial Athletic Association Championship, went on to become a National Semifinalist and were recognized with a Legislative Sentiment. A Legislative Sentiment is a significant expression by the Legislature in recognition of civic and public achievements.
