Sen. Hickman presents Legislative Memorial Scholarship to Winthrop Student

AUGUSTA – On Wednesday, Sen. Craig Hickman of Winthrop, met Brooke Belz, a nursing student at University of Maine at Orono. Brooke is a resident of Winthrop and a recent recipient of the Legislative Memorial Scholarship. These scholarships are awarded to a single student within each county pursuing an education at a two or four-year degree-granting Maine college or technical school.  

“I am so proud of Brooke,” said Sen. Hickman. “She is an accomplished nursing student and focuses diligently on her studies. I have no doubt Ms. Belz will go on to do great things as her career in the medical field progresses.”

Brooke was accompanied at the State House by her parents, Darryl and Susan Belz who stood alongside her in the Senate Chamber while she was awarded her scholarship check from Senator Hickman.
