Sen. Hickman welcomes Gary Crocker to the State House
AUGUSTA — On Tuesday, June 3, Senator Craig Hickman, D-Winthrop, welcomed Gary Crocker of West Gardiner to the State House for the opening invocation. The invocation is offered at the beginning of each session day with the intent to ensure senators are given the opportunity to hear from a variety of community leaders around the state.
“I always look forward to Gary’s invocation each session,” said Sen. Hickman. “Gary is a great friend of mine and does a lovely job of bringing his personal experiences into his invocations to set a positive tone for the day’s session. I especially appreciate his words as our days get longer and more contentious near the end of the legislative session.”
Invocations are given before the start of each Senate session. The time is meant for bipartisan reflection and non-denominational words of guidance from faith-based leaders across the state. If you are a local faith leader interested in presenting the invocation to the Senate, please contact Alex Ferguson at (207) 287-1540 or Alex.Ferguson@legislature.maine.gov.
