Sen. Hickman welcomes Monmouth Academy Boys Basketball Team to the State House

AUGUSTA – On Thursday, March 28, Senator Hickman of Winthrop welcomed the Monmouth Academy Boys Basketball Team to the Senate Chamber to be recognized for their recent Championship win. The Mustangs brought home the Academy’s first ever Class C State Championship in basketball.

“I am beyond proud of these tenacious and well-mannered young men,” said Sen. Hickman. “I am grateful to have been able to be a part of this historic moment and to have had the opportunity to present a legislative sentiment for their hard fought season.”

Legislative sentiments are presented to individuals or groups who are exemplary figures within their community. Celebrating team accomplishments such as this provides a way to introduce students to not only their state senator, but the legislature as a whole.
