AUGUSTA — On Tuesday, April 22, Senator Craig Hickman, D-Winthrop, welcomed Pastor Travis Armstrong of Hope Baptist Church in Manchester to the Senate to give the invocation.

“It was a pleasure to receive an invocation from a pastor in my district,” said Sen. Hickman. “Pastor Armstrong was very gracious to come share his prayers and words with the Senate amid the Easter season. I appreciate his blessing on my colleagues and our work for the people of Maine.”

Invocations are given before the start of each Senate session. The time is meant for bipartisan reflection and non-denominational words of guidance from faith-based leaders across the state. If you are a local faith leader interested in presenting the invocation to the Senate, contact Alex Ferguson at (207) 287-1540 or Alex.Ferguson@legislature.maine.gov.
