AUGUSTA — On Wednesday, March 18, Sen. Henry Ingwersen, D-Arundel, congratulated Consolation Sumba, who is the 2026 Legislative Memorial Scholarship winner from York County. Consolation lives in Biddeford and is currently enrolled in the Health Studies program at York County Community College. At the ceremony in the Maine Senate Chamber, Consolation was joined by his mother, Angel Musau, and brother, Presence Tshiamala.

“As a former teacher, I greatly appreciate when students are rewarded for their dedication and hard work,” said Sen. Ingwersen. “In the Health and Human Services Committee, which I chair, I hear all the time how urgently we need to educate, recruit and train the next generation of health care workers. I hope that this scholarship helps Consolation prepare for a good-paying job in the health care sector. He is already putting in hours at York Hospital, while exploring potential careers in a biomedical research lab. Congratulations, and keep up the great work.”
