Sen. Libby earns perfect attendance record in 2018 legislative session

Sen. Nate Libby, D-Lewiston, earned a perfect attendance and voting record during the recently concluded legislative session.

“Lewiston residents elected me to show up and do my job, and that’s what I’ve done over these last two years,” said Sen. Libby. “I’m ready to return to Augusta and complete the unfinished work of 2018. I know he people of Lewiston and the people of Maine expect no less from my colleagues and me.”

During the 2nd Regular Session of the 128th Maine Legislature, Sen. Libby cast 100 percent of the votes recorded, excluding absences excused by the President of the Senate for illness or other extenuating circumstances. This year, lawmakers cast votes to expand access to child care for low-income families (a law sponsored by Sen. Libby), protect the minimum wage, improve transparency in prescription medicine pricing and increase access to the life-saving, anti-overdose drug naloxone.

Sen. Libby also had a 100 percent attendance record last year. The 128th Legislature adjourned May 2, leaving several pieces of legislation unresolved. The Legislature will only reconvene should there be a special session.
