AUGUSTA — Sen. Peggy Rotundo, D-Lewiston, received a perfect score in the Maine AFL-CIO’s 2025 Legislative Scorecard for her voting record to promote fair wages, ensure safe work environments and support working families. Sen. Rotundo was one of 17 senators to earn a perfect score. The Maine AFL-CIO scored 11 initiatives considered by the 132nd Maine Legislature in 2025.

“Supporting and growing the labor force are among the most important steps we can take to strengthen Maine communities,” said Sen. Rotundo. “This year, I worked to lift up working Mainers by expanding access to good jobs, union apprenticeships, unemployment benefits and other educational and career services. I am proud to always vote in support of efforts that make Maine a place where working families can thrive.”

Sen. Rotundo received a perfect score for supporting legislation that would lower costs for working Mainers and protect the state’s future as a place for families to live happily and securely. She sponsored a bill signed into law that establishes a Community Workforce Connections Program and modernizes the Competitive Skills Scholarship Program. Together, these new and revamped initiatives will expand access to education and employment opportunities for Mainers facing barriers to workforce participation, bolstering local economies in turn.

Additionally, Sen. Rotundo supported legislation to protect the income of federal and state employees during government shutdowns and help law enforcement and first responders access treatment for PTSD.

Sen. Rotundo has a long history of supporting working families in the Legislature. Since 2011, she has received a perfect score on all nine AFL-CIO scorecards released during her service in the State House.
