Sen. Tipping welcomes Doctor of the Day to the Maine Senate

AUGUSTA ­­— On Tuesday, Sen. Mike Tipping, D-Orono, welcomed Dr. Katie Adams of Lincoln to the Senate Chamber. Dr. Adams served as the Doctor of the Day for the Maine State Legislature.

“I am grateful for Dr. Adam’s willingness to serve as the Doctor of the Day,” said Sen. Tipping. “As a lawmaker, I am honored to welcome constituents from all walks of life to the State House, whether they be doctors, faith leaders, or student pages. Also, I want to thank Dr. Adams for taking excellent care of her patients in the Lincoln community.”

Dr. Adams is a board-certified Family Medicine Physician at Health Access Network in Lincoln. She is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). In 2023, she earned her Degree of Fellow in Medicine which recognizes AAFP members who have distinguished themselves in the Family Medicine field by their advancement of health care in their communities and by their professional development through medical education.

On session days, the Maine Medical Association coordinates the Doctor of the Day Program in the Maine State Legislature. Established in 1996, the Doctor of the Day Program is a unique opportunity for medical providers to observe the legislative process in action and interact with lawmakers.
