Sen. Tipping welcomes students from Leonard Middle School as Honorary Pages in the Senate
AUGUSTA — On Thursday, April 13, Sen. Mike Tipping, D-Orono, and other members of the Legislature welcomed students from Leonard Middle School in Old Town to serve as Honorary Pages in the Senate Session. The students are also members of the Leonard Middle School student council.
“The students from Leonard Middle School did a great job serving as pages,” said Sen. Tipping. “Their drive, determination and overall leadership are incredible traits that will lead each of them to success. I am sure these qualities also serve each of them well on the student council. I look forward to hearing about their future accomplishments and celebrating their success.”
Honorary pages are invited from around the state to perform duties such as delivering messages to Senators and distributing amendments and supplements in the Chamber under the supervision of the Sergeant-at-Arms and other chamber staff. Those wishing to sign up as Honorary Pages should contact Alex Ferguson in the Senate Secretary’s office at Alex.Ferguson@legislature.maine.gov or 207-287-1540.
