AUGUSTA — On Wednesday, March 13, Sen. Eloise Vitelli, D-Arrowsic, welcomed middle school students Harper Steenstra of Bath, Bryce and Evelyn McKenney of Topsham, Malcolm Russo of Phippsburg, and Grace Goodall of Richmond to the Maine Senate. These students served as Honorary Student Pages in the Senate Chamber.

“We had a great crew of students who served as Honorary Student Pages,” said Sen. Vitelli. “From Bath and Phippsburg to Richmond and Topsham, I have been delighted to welcome students from across the district. In the final weeks of the legislative session, my colleagues and I rely on them to help us. As the Senate Majority Leader, I am especially grateful for their work.”

On session days, the Senate Secretary’s Office manages the Honorary Student Page Program in the Maine State Senate. Open to students in third grade through twelfth grade, Honorary Student Pages perform various duties such as delivering messages; distributing documents within the Senate Chamber; interacting with State Senators; and taking part in a real world, legislative learning experience.
