AUGUSTA – On Thursday, October 10, Sen. Eloise Vitell, D-Arrowsic, hosted Mt. Ararat High School senior Joshua Dolinger. Dolinger shadowed Sen. Vitelli while the Maine State Senate convened for a Confirmation Session. During the day, the Senate voted on 20 individuals for appointments or re-appointments to state boards, commissions, courts, and departments. All were confirmed, many with unanimous votes of those present and voting.

“As a termed out State Senator, I will greatly miss hosting students and young people at the State House,” said Sen. Vitelli. “Throughout my legislative career, I have always been mindful of mentoring the next generation of leaders and providing them with opportunities to see their future selves in government, even as a possible Senate Majority Leader or President. We govern well when we work together, taking into consideration the perspectives and views of Mainers of all ages.”

Dolinger is a senior at Mt. Ararat High School, where he participates in Model UN. He has an interest in political science and state government.
