Sen. Vitelli welcomes Pastor Jim Kiker to the Maine Senate
AUGUSTA — On Thursday, Feb. 21, Sen. Eloise Vitelli, D-Arrowsic, welcomed Pastor Jim Kiker of United Baptist Church in Topsham. As part of the day, Pastor Kiker gave the Opening Prayer.
“I was delighted to meet Pastor Jim and his wonderful wife Deb today,” said Sen. Vitelli. “Traveling all the way from Topsham, Pastor Jim shared a beautiful message with all of us. It was a source of inspiration and motivation, and I am grateful for his service to our community.”
On session days, faith leaders deliver a brief inspirational message to guide lawmakers through their deliberations for the day. Out of respect for the diversity in the Senate Chamber, the Senate Secretary’s Office asks that these invocations are non-secular and non-political.
