SENATOR GERZOFSKY RECEIVES PERFECT SCORE ON LABOR RECORD
AUGUSTA – Senator Stan Gerzofsky of Brunswick has received a 100% rating from the Maine State Employees Union for his support of working families during the 126th Legislature.
“I am happy to stand behind Maine’s hard working employees,” said Senator Stan Gerzofsky. “Standing up for working people has always been a priority for me and I will continue to support the people who serve the citizens of the state of Maine”
Senator Gerzofsky is one of 19 Democratic senators to receive a perfect score from the union, which represents more than 15,000 public and private sector workers throughout Maine.
During the 2013 legislative session, Senator Gerzofsky supported the bipartisan, responsible budget crafted by the legislature, and voted to prevent a state shutdown by overriding the governor’s veto of the budget. Senator Gerzofsky also supported bills to raise the minimum wage and increase access to affordable health care and low-cost prescription drugs, and opposed harmful so-called “right-to-work” bills, which would have weakened collective bargaining rights for Maine workers.
The Legislature will reconvene in January 2014.
